Why Is Serving the City That You Love So Important to You?

Question - Why is serving the city that you love so important to you?

Answer - I have had a servants heart since childhood. for as long as I can remember I have had the ability to look inward, to reflect or contemplate upon the energy and efforts that I am putting forth as a way of helping others. I have always been fascinated with the old school self help gurus - Zig Ziglar, Dr. Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra, Les Brown, and Ekhart Tolle to name a few.

“You will get all you want in life, if you help enough other people get what they want.” - Zig Ziglar

I have had Ziglar's quote on my heart since the day that I heard it!

Fast forward to today....Since arriving here @15 years ago, Cindy and I have been involved with this community. I have served on the Board of Directors for the Rotary Club of Greenfield, I have delivered meals and shovelled snow filled sidewalks for the Meals on Wheels program, I have created fundraising items to be sold or auctioned off by local 501 (c)3 organizations, I have donned various mascot outfits and participated in local events such as; Bark in the Park, Super Hero 5K walk and run event (Hancock4kids), Chalkfest, Fitness festival, and numerous local parades.

I have served as an advisor or contributor to numerous local campaigns as well as state and federal campaigns for public office. I was a Deputy Coroner during Coroner David Stillinger's first term. I have been involved with or investigated some of the most tragic and devastating deaths in our county.

I have even been a friend and confidant to many current or past office holders. I have cooked for, prayed for, and spent time with many of you while you navigated through some of the roughest patches in your lives.

I have always been a friend and loyal member of this community and have carried years worth of others emotional baggage because the burdens shared with me were oftentimes too much for them. I have never complained about those burdens, nor betrayed a trust or a confidence despite the many fears that I'm an outsider or statements that I don't have any business in local politics.

I want to be mayor because this community needs a leader with a servants heart. A leader that understands what its like to be underserved or unrepresented. A leader that is just like everyone else - caring, loving, and exhibiting grace in the best of times or during the worst of times.
